Hey and welcome to UWRC, the fastest growing club at the University of Worcester.
Since the club was founded in 2004, it has grown each year, and the past year was no exception. Through the academic year 2010/11, UWRC has managed to double its dedicated member base and acquire some sweet boats to expand the fleet, obtained from our fundraising efforts. This year the club plans to do the same - expanding the number of boats and available facilities to compliment the passion of the coaches and athletes.
As if this wasn't impressive enough, the club this past year has made a huge impact on the rowing circuit by attending both high end head races and regattas, including BUCS and the men's and women's Head of the river race. We also launched our very own head race, the University of Worcester Head of the Severn. Through this year we as a club have managed a gold in beginner coxed fours at the University of Bristol Head, a silver in beginner coxed fours at BUCS head and a bronze in the women's lightweight championship pairs. As I write this now our racing calender is not over as we move to focus on some further regattas and take on Henley for the second consecutive year.
So if you are up for a challenge and willing to push yourself amongst truly awesome people, everyone is welcome so don't hesitate to get in touch. We have no plans to slow down this year so why not be a part of it?
UWRC: what can you achieve?
