Socials

All your friends, almost naked.

Ok, so Mitch was pretty slack doing write ups in the second semester...Musta been busy with his degree, right? Don't worry, they're all awesome.

With the new committee coming in at the end of May I took the role of Social Secretary and with only a few weeks with everyone left in Worcester I set out to arrange the final Lycra social of the year.

For those of you reading this that aren't in the rowing club Lycra socials involve everyone from the club wearing they’re racing Lycra and getting drunk. (That’s a lot of drunken people and not a lot of clothes.)

Unfortunately a few of our senior men couldn’t make it (Nicky specifically just asked me to mention this). Their absence was felt and them not being around made the night at least 1% less enjoyable. Maybe.

We had pre-drinks at Shelly/Debbie’s with twister, skin slaps and a ridiculous amount of Vodka Jellies that they made, including a special batch for J-Sto.

After pre-drinks we went straight to Bushwakers drank more, danced and generally made tits out of our selves. The wall of incest got supplemented, people's sisters showed how innocent they aren't and I woke up with a chipped tooth.

First Social as Sec...Successssss.

15/12/2010 – UWRC Xmas Meal

I’ve got to say THANK YOU so much to everyone for being really helpful with the orders and money when it came to me organising this – it really helped a lot! This was an amazing night, and whilst the food wasn’t amazing (what can you expect from Lloyds really) it was cheap, and the alcohol definitely made it taste better! It was awesome to see so many people come out and there were very dew members of the club who did not make an appearance. After finishing the meals and several drinks afterwards we headed off to Bushwackers for a change, and it really was an awesome night to end on!

It’s been an awesome first semester of socials, and hopefully next semester is going to be even better – especially with that lycra social waiting at the end of it!

08/12/2010 – Xmas

To get into the Christmas theme this week we dressed up in everything and anything festive – even Bill and Ben made an appearance! The most scarring sight this night though most definitely has to be Mr. White’s ‘sexy’ Santa outfit......christ...

A couple of drinks in Cellar Bas got the night off to a great start and soon the place was full of Santas and Elves. We later moved onto Mode and from then on I can remember very little!! All I know was it was a really good night!

Was a really good effort from everyone for the last fancy dress social of 2010!

01/12/2010 – Lycra

THE best theme that exists, and was a suitable way for all of us to celebrate our first race of the season at Bristol! A winter twist was added with tech tops and leggings being worn because of the stupidly cold temperatures outside! Pre-drinks where at Strange’s flat, where absolute carnage happened involving beer horns, ab’s offs, indecent exposures and some girl-on-girl antics. Only on a lycra social!

A quick run over to the Dive saw every head turn towards us who looked so god damn sexual in there! After a couple we jumped into taxis and went into Mode, where it’s safe to say we where the centre of attention!
We definitely know how to have a good time after an alcohol ban!!

If this is anything to go by the end of year lycra social is going to be epic! And remember – what happens on lycra social stays on lycra social ;)

10/10/10 – Moulin Rouge + Charity Shop Dress (Lizzie’s Birthday)

It was one crazy mash up of themes, and there were some amazing efforts, including most of the senior women with their burlesque outfits, and several of the guys properly going for the cross-dressing. Every guy not dressed in a dress very quickly found themselves with red lipstick on when pre-drinking at Lizzie’s!

After a couple of drinks at Lizzie’s we headed off into town and a couple of people went off to Sin, but the guys dressed up in women’s clothes weren’t allowed in – Shocker! We knew that almost anyone/thing can get into Lloyds so we had a few cheeky pitchers and a fair few heads were turned! The night eventually took us to Mode and the alcohol just kept on flowing!

Another good night!

29/9/2010 - Farmers and Sheep – First Social of the Year

After a sweet sweet session of outdoor circuits, we all met in the Dive with Development Squad members dressed as sheep and all Seniors as farmers. Having just done an intense session and the Snakey B’s flowing it didn’t take long for the alcohol to take effect! There was an amazing turnout and some amazing efforts in costumes – special mention has got to be made for Ed, Rossouw and Rory who went for it when it came to being sheeped up!

A couple of drinking games got underway, and a surprise visit was made by the men themselves - Mr. Jamie Wilton and Mr. John Maxwell - to spice up the drinking games going on. We left a beautiful mess on the Dive floor from the woolly sheep coats and after dropping some shapes on the Dive dance floor we made a move to Mode by somehow flagging down a free Bushwackers bus at the Uni gates. Mode was then amazing as at least half the people in there were rowers, and we had an awesome time with the sweet tunes.

If anyone has any photos from the night then post a link on the UWRC Socials page, as I can’t find any when trailing through Facebook! An awesome first social, and it’s only going to get better from here!

6/10/2010 – Doodle

This was one messy messy night!! Everyone started at Karen’s flat, and armed with pens the socialising began right from the start. There was no need to start the drinking games as everyone was really involved with writing as much abuse as possible on each other. This night was made extra special with our favourite Hobbit joining us – FRODO! I know I left the flat expecting to get punched as I had “all rugby players are dicks” and “football is for gays” written on my back! The event of the night had to be Mann and Ed’s epic race to the toilet and Ed giving Mann a cheeky push into the door and splitting his eyebrow on it! Banter!

Sadly for me the night gets a little hazy as I can remember very little from then on! We headed off into the Dive and soon it wasn’t just rowers who had stuff written on them as we were let loose with pens on the whole of the Dive!
It’s always a classic night and everyone definitely got to know each other a whole lot better! The photos are up on Karen’s Facebook and see you all next week.

13/10/10 - Mr. Men and Little Miss

This week we tried something completely new and started our night off in the Cellar Bar. The night started off chilled, but naturally as the alcohol started to flow the night just got better and better! A MASSIVE mention has to be made about Josh, whose Mr.Bump outfit required minimum clothing but looked epic! The snooker table and games machine provided classic entertainment, and the shots of Knob’s Creek really made it interesting! We then a made a move onto Mode and arrived looking like a group of Mr.Bumps with some random bright coloured people following!

If I’m missing any Web of Incest action out then please please please add it onto the website – we need the banter! It’s awesome to see everyone putting in a decent effort every week and hope you’re having some sweet nights out. If you’ve got any ideas for a social theme or want us to come round to your flat for some pre-drinks then drop me a message or text me. The photos from the night are up on Karen’s Facebook now.

20/10/10 - Barbie and Action Man

The night started off with a couple of pre-drinks at Aaron’s flat and then a walk down to the Cellar Bar – which in tights and a vest was amazingly cold! This week’s best dressed award has got to go to Ed, whose melons I couldn’t take my eyes off all night. Rob and your dress – you looked lovely........We also had a special guest join us, in the form of the woman herself – it was only Fay!!! Who managed to somehow get a fair few drinks out of the Development Squad!!

It’s getting a bad habit but I really can remember little else from then on! If anyone wants to fill in the blanks for me then go for it!! Hope everyone had a good night, and it was amazing to see everyone make such an effort – the cross dressing and Barbie/Action Man merging was quite a sight! Another brilliant night!

27/10/10 – Ghostbusters

The first thing I have to say is how amazing was Mr.Crane’s outfit?!? The inflatable proton pack was immense! There were fewer people out than past weeks, but everyone was so up for it that the Cellar Bar was awesome! We had some sweet tunes on the go thanks to Mat, and I feel it’s only right to mention how amazing Nicky’s drawing skills are when it came to drawing the Ghostbuster’s logo! I’m pretty sure by the end of the night everyone in Mode knew that he had drawn them on himself....!

We hit Mode in style, and turned quite a few heads dressed up in our Poundland special boiler suits! The greatest moment had to be when the DJ played our request for the Ghostbuster’s theme! Quite a few additions need to be made to the web of incest too – you know who I’m talking about *cough* Emily, Rupert, Rhys, Sian, Lizzie, Harry *cough*!! It was an awesome night guys, but my mission for the next social – work on getting cheaper drinks in the Cellar Bar! Keep checking the UWRC Socials Facebook page to keep up to date with what’s happening over the next couple of weeks.

Thanks for an awesome night team, hope you all have a good reading week and look forward to the next social – it’s going to be a goodun’!
